Supplemental Security
Supplemental Police Patrol Program
Funded by the French Quarter Economic Development District, the Supplemental Police Patrol Program (“SPPP”) proactively patrols the French Quarter streets to help the New Orleans Police Department deter crime. It uses a mobile application that allows businesses, residents, visitors, and employees to easily report crimes in progress. The SPPP patrols 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The initiative has been credited by the N.O.P.D. as having a positive impact on violent crime, including the removal of guns, drugs, and criminals from the French Quarter.
Task Force App
The French Quarter Task Force App is also used to provide accountability and oversight along with electronic trip sheets and time sheets. End of shift reports can easily be run to assess if the officers are proactively patrolling their assigned area of the Quarter.

The New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) needs your consent to remove subjects from private property. Consent can be granted by calling NOPD or placing a request for service on the French Quarter Task Force app each time an incident occurs. Now, you can also submit the attached letter granting NOPD ongoing authorization to remove loiterers and trespassers from your property whenever they are identified.
If you would like to grant ongoing authorization for subjects to be moved from your private property, please fill out the attached letter and return to Sergeant Marc Boudreau, 8th District French Quarter Supplemental Patrol Program.
The French Quarter Management District’s Security & Enforcement Committee and the French Quarter Economic Development District Agreement Monitors worked together with NOPD’s 8th District to provide a form letter for property owners and residents to authorize ongoing removal of trespassers from your property without a call for service.
Upper Quarter Patrol
The Expansion of the Upper Quarter Patrol, originally known as the Royal Street Patrol, is a program of the French Quarter Management District (FQMD) that is operated, and made possible, through a Security Services Agreement between FQMD and Public Safety Services Corporation. This is a detail of off-duty POST Certified law enforcement officers from various agencies to perform pro-active foot patrols coupled with vehicles utilizing emergency lights within the patrol zone area. These patrols enhance police presence and help promote a greater sense of public safety.
