    Vieux Carré Survey
A new online resource improves access to French Quarter history. It is the Collins C. Diboll Vieux Carré Survey. Available at www.hnoc.org/vcs/, the new online tool is an electronic version of the Vieux Carré Survey which has information on every block of the French Quarter. Eric Seiferth, reference assistant at The Collection's Williams Research Center said, "Having the chain of title for each property in the French Quarter available online will be invaluable to researchers of all kinds, from serious scholars to curious property owners."

    Crimestoppers
Crimestoppers GNO, Inc. launches the new FREE Crimestoppers Mobile App for iPhone and Android phones called "TipSubmit"™. To learn more about the new app, visit the Crimestoppers website at www.crimestoppersgno.org.

    Formosan Termites
Formosan termites have been a problem in the French Quarter for a very long time. Operation Full Stop was launched to study the Formosan termite and to demonstrate an area-wide control program centered in the French Quarter. This cooperative effort among state and federal governments, numerous universities, contractors and property owners was successful in greatly reducing the termite pressure in the test area and validated the area-wide treatment strategy for the control of the invasive Formosan subterranean termite. However, there are still live colonies in the French Quarter for which you can do your own initial investigation. For the most current information, please review the latest LSU Ag Center's website http://www.lsuagcenter.com/en/environment/insects/Termites/inspection/french-quarter/French-Quarter-Termite-Inspection.htm
